They're both red. They're both crossovers. But one costs an extra $10,000. And the other has sharp plastic bits that'll cut your fingers.

How come you didn't mention that the rav4 prime is almost impossible to get?

Just to add to the chorus. Called a couple Toyota dealerships in the mid-Atlantic area (PA/NJ/DE) and answers ranged from "we don't get the Prime here" to "we could put you on a wait and try list" to maybe "6 months to never." So, my conclusion is, Ford is not up to the quality of the Toyota, but when comparing them for immediate or near-term purchase, then the calculus is something like: Ford=several thousand less and available. Versus Toyota=several thousand more and basically not available (now/near future). So, no real comparison except in the abstract at present.

Cool vid. Maybe the titanium trim would have had a slight nicer interior but not by much. Maybe this is a you get what you pay for. I think the Escape may undercut the RAV4 quite a bit on price. RAV4 all the way but glad Ford is offering this. And hard to not pick a Maverick Hybrid over both of these.

Not a fair comparison. Should have used the Escape Titanium model

One thing they forget to mention, is charge time, and the kw charge rate . In level 2 plug in the the escape does 7.4kwh were the prime is 3.3 kWh . I like the rav4 plug in ( prime ) and the intro model plug in prime needs more than 3.3kwh of charge rate.

Charlie, I feel the Daily Motor Dual Narration® and Disembodied Voice of Charlie Effect® really added something to this video. First generation Escape Hybrids were full of Denso/Toyota components, is this also true with the new ones? In ranking the cars in the video I would say - 3) Escape PHEV 2) RAV4 Prime 1) Pontiac Vibe @ 6:34

Escape has just escape RAV4....
I also test this 2 cars in the some day, Ford is just better to driven and most of all it is muted, even he hast more lass power, but ultimately the feeling is better.

Not sure how he can say the Rav4 Prime is over hyped. It's everything it trys to be and more. Just try and get one. Good luck! Took me months to get my XSE. Glad I passed on the Escape.

Titanium model has more features than the RAV 4

The entire point of buying these vehicles is to drive on electric only. A test of electric-only performance and range would be fitting while you have these (and the RAV4 Prime is IMPOSSIBLE to get now).
