Tour Company I Used for My Trip: Bilweekend
I spent a night with the Marsh Arabs of Iraq who have lived in the marshlands of Mesopotamia for thousands of years. Their population dwindled after Saddam Hussein drained their wetlands in the 1990s because they didn’t support his regime but recently their communities have begun to recover, and one of them named Abu had invited me to spend the night with his family. All in all, this was one of the coolest experiences of my life.

One of the best experiences I’ve had abroad. Marsh Arab life is the life for me.

This is better than most the travel shows on streaming apps and we get this for free on YouTube. Lucky to have you Donnie

The Dons content makes major media companies look elementary and Barstool hit the freakin jackpot signing him. He needs to be 7 figures a year if not already. I’m a Wonton Rider til the end baby!!!!

As an iraqi grown up in sweden it has been difficult to correct some stereotype thoughts People have about my country and sometimes it just feels hopeless, especially when lies are faster than the truth. But videos like this made by people with good heart gives me reliefs. Thanks from my heart for showing the real side of my country. God bless you!

I'm so happy to see the marsh Arab habitat is coming back. I read the Wilfrid Thesiger book, 'The Marsh Arabs' years ago and was fascinated by the landscape and lifestyle he described so well.

Stumbling across this page with the Iraqi series has completely changed my opinion on Iraq as a country. This channel has been on point and Don needs way more recognition.

Your words at the end couldn't be more true. I've been there twice with the military and the little contact I had with locals was just like you said, they are just like us, trying to survive and have some fun. I always loved meeting locals during my travels abroad. Love how well you connect with people, well done my man.

Donnie needs to do a strain hunting series in the Middle East like he did in china looking for green hoons

That shot of everyone huddled around the fire is so cozy.

Don, how you'd not rate the wing chef's squat by the fire?? That was a perfect 10 of 10!

This entire series genuinely changed my (rather ignorant) view of Iraq. As you did with China too, you are my favorite channel Donnie PLEASE never stop!

Don - this has to be my favorite video of yours bud. As an American with Iraqi immigrant parents, I’ve never really felt a strong desire to go and visit their home until seeing this. This is awesome, thanks for sharing your experience

These Iraq episodes have been super cool. Iraqi people seem so genuinely kind. The narration at the end really hits hard. Great work Donnie

Donnie, I’ve been struggling from severe depression for about 1.5 years. I’ve recently found your videos, and they have legit made me happy to be alive again. Thank you for being such a genuine human being. Watching sports with you would be a dream come true. I can’t wait to try 3 beers and a fanta next time I’m on the sauce. Xoxo Häns

Donnie deserves a Pulitzer for this episode alone. Can't wait for the rest of the series.
