Autocar India : please understand
8” touchscreen is enough unless you’re planning to do software development inside the car.
sunroof isn’t a desirable feature. It’s a nuisance and safety hazard.

Dude is almost 6 feet tall and fits in the back seats with a good amount of room left while saying it has "decent space". My man, the average height of an Indian male is like 5'6.

Edit - this car is for city driving ! Why are we talking about driving with a heavy foot to extract maximum performance? We have to treat cars like Dzire and amaze as city cars for nuclear families. CVT is for convenience in traffic.

We do not need sunroofs in India with so much sun.

Atleast honda is concerned about pickup unlike maruti who will oneday put a bike engine

As an Amaze user, this car is only meant for the city. As someone once said (rather concisely and aptly), "this car is a boon in the city and a bane on the highways!"
Dream car in the city - never troubled me once.

Good to see sedans alive and well through the new Dzire and Amaze. These are much better offerings than the lifted hatchbacks that dominate the sub-4m segment.

Kindly stop mentioning the absence of sunroof as a negative in a compact sedan. Keeping the safety issue apart, why would you want a sunroof in a compact sedan or in any car at all? Wanna feel the open sky, buy a convertible or better get a 2 wheeler. Autocar india is not supposed to just read the brochure and talk about what's in the car and not. Talking about what makes sense in a car is what makes a sensible review. Instead just blabbering whatever is given in the brochure and calling yourself automotive journalists. Nobody needs sunroof; not in Delhi, not in Mumbai, not in Bangalore, nowhere do we need sunroof. Sunroof in a car is like the 2mp macro camera in smartphones. Absolutely useless and absolutely unusable, yet can't find a car without sunroof nor a smartphone without macro cam.

Soham Thakur has done quite good in reviewing this car. Simple language, easy to understand, and practical analysis. Good 👍.

I own a 2019 petrol version. My experience is very good in city and highways. No issue with fuel efficiency. The only major issue is pick up while driving uphill.

Things Honda missed

1) Adjustable Headrest for all 5 passengers
2) TPMS
3) 360' Camera
4) 9" Touch screen system
5) Front Arm Rest
6) Type C port in front and rear
7) Ventilated Seats
8) Optional Sunroof (I personally dont like sunroof but people love it)
9) UV Cut Glass

2k lbs, 90 hp, manual transmission?! Thats pretty much an EF Civic sedan (88-91 Civic). I cannot express how badly I wish this car was sold in the United States. I would buy it immediately.

Cvt is meant for a smooth ride and not to floor it...compared to amts, Honda's cvt is far superior. And a 4 cylinder no nonsense car with class leading safety features is always a thumbs up from me...kudos honda..

I took the test drive of Amaze MT and CVT. Personally I feel MT is better. Anyways it depends on the user's need. My family consists of 4. Mostly my drive will be in the city and 2, 3 long trips in a year. My primary needs in a car are the safety features, good built quality, a clean design, a decent leg room, head room and boot space and low maintenance cost. In long drive I look for the passengers'' comfort at an enjoyable speed of 80 to 90 kmph. I don't need a car which will reach 100 kmph in a few seconds, sun roof and other features. If these are your needs, I feel Amaze is a very good choice. I don't underrate dzire but somehow I am bored with it's look, including the latest one.

Some corrections
Adaptive cruise control works from 35kmph
Manual gear shifts don't deactivate it

- I own this car 😊

Interesting there is no insulation in the engine bay even though the engine is noisy when pushed hard.... cost cutting again

Autocar's reviews are getting too predictable. It's bias towards certain brands is getting obvious with every passing day.

What Sunroof is desirable!? May be it's your view. It's the most useless stuff for Indian climate which also being misused by many in India and the car manufacturers also force them on customers buying top end variants.
