Note: I select clips with insights from these much longer conversation with the hope of helping make these ideas more accessible and discoverable. Ultimately, this podcast is a small side hobby for me with the goal of sharing and discussing ideas. For now, I post a few clips every Tue & Fri. I did a poll and 92% of people either liked or loved the posting of daily clips, 2% were indifferent, and 6% hated it, some suggesting that I post them on a separate YouTube channel. I hear the 6% and partially agree, so am torn about the whole thing. I tried creating a separate clips channel but the YouTube algorithm makes it very difficult for that channel to grow unless the main channel is already very popular. So for a little while, I'll keep posting clips on the main channel. I ask for your patience and to see these clips as supporting the dissemination of knowledge contained in nuanced discussion. Leonard Susskind is a professor of theoretical physics at Stanford University, and founding director of the Stanford Institute for Theoretical Physics. He is widely regarded as one of the fathers of string theory and in general as one of the greatest physicists of our time both as a researcher and an educator.

Its staggering to see how people cant get or understand or know the simulation argument, yet have a strong opinion about the subject
and sadly this applies to everything in this world

If this is a simulation, there is a good chance that the "original reality" doesn't resemble this simulated reality at all, our three spacial dimensions and one of time might be a complete fabrication, the original reality might have two spacial dimensions, it could have ten or two hundred and forty.
It might not run on atoms and particles either, that could also be a construct of our simulation.
The idea that the original reality that spawned this simulation might be physically the same as our simulation could be completely wrong.
We could create a simulation of a 2D universe, which is not a copy of our 3D universe, there is nothing to suggest that this simulation is a copy of anything or has any resemblance to any "original reality" things might be a lot weirder than that.

If quantum particles only take a position when an observer is taking a reading, does it mean that reality spawns at quantum level?

I think the real question is, What would be the purpose? Clearly you don't need to simulate the whole universe just for us, that's just wasteful.

You keep an animal in a cage so that it can't escape. The distance between everything in the universe might just be our cage....the reason exploring space seems impossible at times, because it's designed that way.

Try DMT and you will find the answer to the question, if there is an intelligence that underlies this reality we live in.

But its not like God, it is too big to understand even if you encounter it. It seems for me like pure consciousness in a dimension where space and time dont exist like we are used to it.
It is full of love and understanding and you are a part from it.
There is a meaning but we will never understand it completely. We can not understand the whole thing, because we are a tiny tiny part of it.
Thats what ive learned from all of my DMT experiences.
Mayn scientist, especially physicist, could have a big advantage from exploring this world!

There is no reason to have fear of death. We will never die, its an infinite universe and we are part of it. Just your body can die, but the universe continous to exist and so will you!
Dont confuse youre actually you, youre ego-you, with the real you that you are.
We sadly dont have the language for this kind of topic to talk about it in the right way...


DMT is like a look behind the curtain of this reality, into another dimension, a dimension that is beneath and above this reality at the same time. Or inside and outside at the same time.
It seems impossible to explain, i fail everytime i try. But i will continue to try because the message ive got from it is too important and more people should explore this dimension.
Not everyone of course, but normally there is no danger for youre body and mind. Its a really safe drug. And we should legalice it of course ^^

We together could learn a lot from it.
We should explore this and with the help of science, reason and our heart try to understand what the fuck is going on there!
And what they (the entitys that seem to exist there) try to explain and show to us.
They are always happy and excited when we visit them, they know us.
I get a feeling that is so weird whem im there, but i alway begin to laugh. Its a good place.
We should really study the shit out of this. It is not just like discovering a new planet with aliens on it, no!

It is more like discovering a completely new universe, with new rules, with new possibilities.
A universe that is inside of us, not just outside.
This could maybe the answer to the question, where does consciousness come from and why we are here. And what we should do in order to live a good life.
