NASA insists they aren’t stranded. But eight weeks after their original return date, astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore are still on board the International Space Station. In this episode, we explain why Boeing’s Starliner – and private space travel writ large - is under the microscope as officials work towards a solution.

Guest: Kristin Fisher, CNN Space & Defense Correspondent

4:45 The moment she said the spacecraft runs on helium I stopped listening.

Helium is not the fuel. It is the pressurant for the hypergolic propellants that Starliner uses. I expected better research from CNN, disappointing that such a major detail is incorrect.

How are we deaf/hearing impaired supposed to know what the news is when we aren’t given the tools made pacifically for us to know what’s going on and understand what’s going on

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of a fateful trip
That started from this Cape Canaveral site
Aboard this tiny starliner ship.

The mate was a mighty sailing gal,
The skipper brave and sure.
Two passengers set sail that day
For an eight-day tour, an 8-day tour.

The ship's systems started running rough,
The tiny ship was tossed,
If not for the courage of the fearless crew
starliner would be lost, and the starliner would be lost.

The ship is stuck on ISS
With Butch
and Suni too,
and they are gonna be stuck there for
at least 8 months more,
at least 8 months more

Really would be nice if they would put subtitles for the deaf / hearing impaired

Helium is not a fuel. It's used to pressurize the fuel tanks.

Boeing problem was just with the average people, now its with the government. They should better just close the company.

Boeing management changed and quality decreased with the merger with McDonnell Douglas.
Management changed from engineers to business school graduates without engineering degrees.

If you think id get on a Boeing spacecraft after seeing how their planes run...🙄

"Fuel" implies burning or chemical reaction. Helium is a noble (inert) gas.

Love of money is a sin which leads to enormous, devastating clandestine, subtle decline of a nation

The responsibility for this fiasco lies with NASA, not Boeing.

Right now there's only one spacecraft capable of flying astronauts to and from the ISS. There are two that can get them there. Something they didn't mention is a news segment t I saw that reported that the.Starliner needs an update to fly back autonomously, but that update could potentially brick the docking ring.

Funny that NASA isn’t even putting their own SLS in the mix.

Just let SpaceX bring them home, let Boeing fall on its sword.

This would be terrifying for me. I pray that they are safe and get back to earth soon.
