I'm a medical student and today was the first time I heard this murmur. Really memorable sound.

I've been diagnosed with MVP for two years now and this is the sound I sleep to with my left ear on the pillow.
As for symptoms, I do fine most of the time and I even exercise quite heavily. But there are times that I have recurring chest pains that, to be honest, are scary some times. Also, PVC's happen time to time and have gotten me to ER once, but mostly because I was so anxious about the pain. Overall, the palpitations and chest pain are manageable with beta blockers. I'm hoping mine isn't progressing and I wish everyone with this condition a long healthy life.

P.s. Please DO NOT use my symptoms as a diagnosis of yours. Visit a cardiologist if you have similar symptoms.

I have mitral valve prolapse and every year we have our check up at school, for the chest/breathing check up, the nurse or the doctor would look surprised and would check again my heartbeat and would ask me questions if I have a heart condition and I'll just answer them honestly that I have Mitral Valve Prolapse.

I have mitral valve prolapse. Been getting echos every 2 years, only 33 years old now. Started about 10 years ago. I feel like I'm getting shortness of breath again now, hate the feeling. Had it for a while when it started then it got better. Now getting it at rest again. I see my cardiologist in June but they are so booked out I can't go sooner. Want my next echo to make sure it's not progressing

I was just diagnosed with this and was wondering what the “click” sounded like. Kinda sounds like a sick beat LOL

Thanks, YouTube, now I really wanna hear how my own MVP sounds like despite having zero medical background.

Definitely stealing the stethoscope next time I go for a check-up

No need stetescop I hear my murmur when I lie down to left and my left hand in my left ear. I have 5 or 6 mm MVP but the bad thing is that I have FMF too (mediterranean fewer). When I get fewer attacks my heart rate can boost to 160 bpm.
