Got inside an a380 cockpit mid flight once and pilots got me doing stuff. It was actually mad impressive how they knew where everything was.

If you learning, practising it tousand times, you will know. They are often practising the manual landing too even if the airport has ILS. For not forget that part also

Its call Muscle Memory. I work as CNC machinist and have to know every button. At first day its looks extreme complex until i understand. The CNC Panel might not be complex as a cockpit but you can imagine how muscle memory works

The A320 is as easy as it gets in terms of remembering all the switches for a cold and dark startup in my opinion. Although that’s for airliners, if we’re talking about general aviation then the Cirrus vision jet is probably the winner.

I flight sim in mostly msfs and dcs almost everyday for 3 years as I want to be a pilot when I grow up. They kinda just get embedded in your memory after 3 days on each aircraft

For me the switches and buttons is the easiest thing but the thing that is harder then that is the fmc
