The peek into the world of luxury interior design focuses on Chelsea, one of London's most exclusive boroughs. Leading architect Sally Mackereth is transforming a former artist's studio into a fully furnished apartment for a luxury developer. Travelling across Europe, she collects and commissions exclusive furniture - from satin wall lining to a table made from 8,000-year old wood - as she tries to appeal to an international buyer interested in Chelsea's artistic heritage. Meanwhile, Russian property investor Julia Solovyev seeks inspiration as she sets out to furnish the Chelsea house of her dreams.

"A lot of money is being spent just for the sake of spending money ". How right you are!

The Victorian painter's studio in Chelsea, before the decorator got her hands on it, was by far the most elegant of spaces.

Made me humble to the hot water, warm bed and a few special travel pieces from my life that cost $20 to $300 excellent taste practical and real ! Thank you for confirming just how truly blessed I am!

All that money spent and, perhaps with the exception of high quality fabrics, these apartments don’t look far above an IKEA show room.

I thought resurrecting the black oak for the tables was the most interesting piece of information and a beautiful table resulted. It is a work of art. The lady who’s husband was the artist had a dreamy apartment, it was so nostalgic, what a story she has in her world and with his work.

The most tasteful and elegant people in the film are the artist and Mr Chelsea.

As an artist, I’m saddened for the lady who’s artist husband died and left behind decades of artwork. We (the artists) can no longer find affordable places to live and work. It is killing the possibility of creativity. All the while the rich are spending more money on a toilet than someone’s entire year of grocery bills.

these people spend all their lives on luxury that life passes by. Most of us who watched the video do not envy them.

The old lady moving out and the dazzled Russian lady moving in says all about London nowadays.

Money is obviously no guarantee for taste.

buying a fully furnished home or apartment is like living in a high end hotel, nothing is personal

These rich people are interesting and creative and they are destroying historic homes that can not be replaced. If they want modern, minimalist interiors they should buy or build new buildings. Leave the historic homes to people who understand and appreciate the rich history and value of the patina of each footstep and human touch. I thought the Brits protected historic building?

This was a revelation! But now I'm back to my own reality of inherited stuff and charity shop finds and quite satisfied thank you very much!

The artists wife seems authentic, kind and interesting, not to mention the natural way she has aged which is beautiful and soft. I loved her space far more than any of the new builds. So sad to see what so called elite society views as successful and aspirational. This is how the soul of an area is lost.

Fontanela’s plastic face and signature masonic tiles let you know who she serves
