The original singer and songwriter of this song is Dolly Parton an American Country icon. She wrote it in I think 1973. She wrote it for her friend when she was leaving his variety type show to start a solo career. The Whitney version was for the movie the Bodyguard. Dolly’s version is more laid back and sweet.
I’ve only heard Eric when he was with Skid Row. This is by far the best cover of the Whitney version I have ever heard. Spectacular 🔥
