I was one of the folks who bought it and then returned it. Jumped back in during free play weekend and the difference is night and day. Bought the game and in two weeks have sank 80 hours into it.

After 20 years of hard drinking, no mans sky helped me quit alcohol, i realised i couldn't play it drunk so the game won .
Thankyou hello games❤

I also took up NMS for the first time after Starfield I mean, Starfield was ok, but the exploration aspect is totally meh in my opinion. I saw people in comments recommending NMS and thought I'd give it a try. I absolutely love it. One of the things I really like is the variety of things you can do. Feel like just randomly exploring and finding amazing planets, you can do that. Bored with that for a while? then you can get into base building. Or managing a fleet of frigates from your freighter. Or doing missions from the nexus. I'm in base building mode at the moment - I wish the build interface was a little easier to use but I'm loving it.

Have you ever noticed that the closer you get to an earthlike planet, the freakier the mobs get? I could never settle down in this game becausa of that.

Thanks for this! I’ve played over 1k hours on nms since 2016. It’s a game I come back to. With this recent expedition. I finally. FINALLY. Talked friends into playing the game with me. I have some hold out players. This video was what I was trying to explain. Much love for this!

I bought the game on launch for the PS4. I didnt preorder it so I had to search for it. Went to 10 differnt stores that sold games where I live and finally found the final copy the local Best Buy had. The clerk spent 30 minutes going through the store and storage before finding the last copy at the returns counter. I played for close to 8 hours before making it off the first planet (I got lost in a cave), spent a few more hours venturing into the next system before deciding that the game wasn't for me. I loved the exploration aspect but the rest felt very lacking so I shelved it. After Starfield came out a whatched a steamer play NMS to compare the 2 and I saw the difference the all those patches made so I started playing again. Now I'm 700 hours into thr game and am having a blast scrounging for that perfect Sentinel ship, fighting space pirates and building bases.

Arrived in 2019, spent first few days trying to figure out how to fly. What a hoot. 4.5k hours later still enjoying it, especially the newest patch. Still reminds me of opening moments of 2001, a Space Odyssey, especially as I head down the trenches to kill freighters. Great game, looking forward to LNF. It's the replayability in the NMS sandbox that stands out. There's so much more to the game than most ever see and an excellent steam community to get help from Nice vid. Thanks for taking the time to put it all together. Cheers.

Day 1, came back last year, or played very little between then and now. Really like what i see now and know this game stretches the definition of space exploration to the max.

Day 1 player and long time fan of the game and the dev team, I have 400 hours on my current PC game save alone (which I started just before the Origins update), probably more than 1k over all my versions (I have all but Switch, I played also on VR and Steam Deck a lot - actually one of my fav things is playing my save seamlessly through desktop/mobile/virtual reality, it's a dream come true). I am a gen x gamer so I started playing when I was a child in the late 80s, and I've seen my slew of games, and this definitely is a standout - top 5 material, overall

You forgot to mention it's 100% in VR too! I bought a PSVR2 to play GT7 and was content with that alone but I saw this game always at the top of the VR sales chart. I picked it up on sale not knowing anything about it and had the best gaming experience of my life. The VR is absolutely breathtaking, first time leaving the planet at the beginning and spinning my ship around... Wow!

I fell in love multiple times with NMS. I've been exploring since launch and what I think its crazy is that whenever the game is about to get stale to me, HG comes up with another amazing update. Every. Single. Time! It's not my "main" game, but whenever it's updated I always check it out. Looking forward to what 2024 has in store for us there's still a lot of gaps in the lore I want them to resolve before putting the game on life support

Great video of the story of NMS. I played first when Next Update came out and now I do a second save since January. Amazing game. And the most important as you said, I trust 100% Hello Games compared to all other video game companies.

I started with Starfield, was so looking forward to that game. I did like it, but it was not completely what I was hoping for. But the main reason I got to start playing No Man's Sky, was that I was looking for games to play with my buddies. I did hear of NMS years ago, but the negative response made me not try it. But November last year, I thought I would try it. I have 523 hours now😂😂 So safe to say, I really enjoy it😉🤘 Looking forward to try LNF too though😁

I got mine less than a year ago, after noticing how often a friend was playing. It's difficult to imagine what Day 1 must have been like!

Exactly what you said happened to me. I played NMS years ago, but got bored with it (at the time). Then along comes Strarfield announcement, which wet my appetite for a great space game. Then it came out, and I was hugely disappointed. So I figured to scratch that itch, I would get back into NMS. And I was blown away by all the changes and improvements they made. It's my go-to game now until Light No Fire comes out.

Respect to the company for keep bringing updates, and not releasing them as paid DLC.

I'm a walking adult L and play nothing but Switch. When the game dropped for Switch, I quickly picked it up. I was jobless (post covid) and before i knew it I dumped over 100 hours into the game. The wild thing is, I had absolutely ZERO clue about any patches or updates. I thought I was playing the base game the entire time, and could not figure out why the game wasn't highly praised. Then I found out about the updates, and then things clicked. But that made me appreciate the game even more knowing the Hello really put work and care into the game. I took a break after Tears of the Kingdom came out. But now that that ship sailed, I'm getting back into NMS with a new game. Cant wait for the newer updates I missed over the past year.

Someone randomly gave me extra memory and a bunch of items to sell for units, plus so many salvage data just to help me out in the Space Anomaly, and now ive spent well over a 50+ hours upgrading 😅
