I’m hoping to gain some knowledge so that I can move forward in other specialties. I recently lost my ER coding and out patient contact coding although I’ve coded several except for observation and physician and now find my self struggling looking for work it seems the physician based and observation are highly requested and although I have a COC I’m not getting much hits

Question what if the patient came in to the ED was placed on observation status then an order was placed for palliative care in observation with a subsequent date of service. How would this be coded? Thanks for your help

I was enrolled in a Medical Coding program at a community college a few years ago and was doing really well but had to withdraw due to work. I'm trying to get back into a coding program or healthcare admin program but I'm wondering should I enroll in a community college, 4 year or certification program. Good afternoon ma'am... I have a doubt... For example- if a patient is admitted on January 1st 2019 at 9:00am in the internal medicine department... and on January 2 at 10Am his status change to observation and on same day i.e 2nd January GI physician asked for consultantion around 11 am and consultation criteria does not meet ..what cpt code would be assigned for gi physician...or how we billed for GI physician..??
