Reflection:
My clean and jerk progress has been slow. This time last year, I got to 100kg. Currently at 107.5kg and I think it’s partly because I only FS and DL during my C&J sessions, which may not be enough volume to promote adaptation and strength for those two lifts.
I’ve been looking at my training log and ig posts and I noticed that I make a lot of progress when I train a lift with a higher frequency. June 2021, CJ at 75kg. August 2022 - 100kg. 25kg increase in 14 months.
My goal for end of 2024 is to CJ 130kg. Although it’s the same 25kg increase, it’s different to the 75 to 100kg achievement. I’m mindful with the volume and intensity and will make sure I’m not compromising my ability to recover.
