The song "Answers" is from the point of view of Hydaelyn as her answers to the prayers of many. "Why do we have to suffer?" "Please Save us!" "Why won't you help?" Her answer is simply that if she were to save everyone they would never grow and be able to do things on their own.

But as the end approaches and the skies turn red her words become harder and harder to understand

This almost makes me regret not buying 1.0 of FFXIV.

I'm watching this video and seeing how empty the world is, Dalamud piercing the sky, the haunting music, lightning, etc. It all culminates into one thing. "This is the way the world ends."

I'm playing ARR now but it fascinates me to no end as to know this was how the story of the Sixth Astral Era ended. Taking a game that was being revamped and making an entire storyline out of it rather than just a simple disconnected message.

I finished Endwalker recently. To think this is where it all began a decade ago, it's amazing and majestic in its own right. And the scars it left behind continue to show, even in this current expansion it ensures you don't forget that the moon came down and that dragon nearly brought the realm to its knees.

Revisiting this years later, after Shadowbringers clarified a lot of things about the Echo. It reminds me how mesmerizing it was to have lived it. I would see Dalamud in everything in my daily life. I would be harvesting in Coerthas and stop to stare at it hanging in the sky. It was both nightmare and muse for months.

I wasn't around for 1.0, but I've seen my share of final server days. This one was a well-executed, much deserved send-off. I wish they all were so lucky, but this was one of those once-in-a-lifetime kind of moments where a beloved branch of an established franchise not only dies, but grants its players a definitive, canonical ending relevant even to its successor.

Oh man, all these comments; 1.0 had it's momments...but with all the hard work they put into the game, 2.0 has really shined with all the new content they put into it...The game is actually pretty fun now, also Thanks for all these likes it's great^^ Keep them comming.

This is so remarkable... And the amount of shivers it gives me, eesh. I really wish I could've experienced this.

Even having never played this game, knowing the context on that moment, it is ominous at best. Also, having seen videos on the last days of Legacy/1.0 where players simply stared at Dalamud to the final seconds (both in- and out-universe), I can even imagine us in the real world hearing this very song at the end of the world.


Finally, applying this song at the end of Baelsar's Wall leading up to the summoning of Shinryu, it is fitting too.

I never knew much about the lore, but I was strolling through Ul'dah on my way to the inkeeper one day and suddenly heard this sad yet beautiful song echoing from the palace. I tried finding who sang it but couldn't and so I just sat on the bench in The Gold Court and listened for a while.
Reading up on the story of this song makes the moment even greater. Bravo FFXIV for weaving lore, mystery and excitement into random moments like this one that touched me like no other MMO before.

It's so easy to become immersed in the dread. The end of the world looms and yet it is beautiful.

I played a bit of 1.0 but sadly I wasnt around for this. Been in Eorzea since launch in 2013 and have never looked back. I love this world. Having finished Endwalker at it's launch, this has so much meaning. 1.0's ending deserve to go down in history as an amazing way to provide closure but hope for the player base.
