As someone Vietnamese and not close to my family, following your channel has been so healing for me because I am able to still be in touch with my culture. You inspire me to remember my roots ❤

“Then I got hungry” is extra special. The earlier meals were just for fun, this meal is for survival.

I want to hug her and try all these foods. I’m all about trying new foods at least once. Then if I don’t like it wait a few years and try it again. All of these looks worth a taste. She is just a calm presence and seems like a great friend to be around.

The sesame ball is called onde onde in Indonesia. I've tried one, it's delicious. Asian really know how to make delicious food.

I had no exposure to viet culture before Uyen. these tiny glimpses into everyday life of a foreigner are so wholesome and neat! it makes me feel like a kid again, full of wonder about the world and its peoples. happy new year to you and German fiancé! 🩷

You finally remembered to show us what you ate in a day! I remember that adorable short where you forgot to film anything. Everything looks delicious!

I just went out for Pho the other day, and I remember a video where you were like “I don’t understand why Americans and the rest of the world is obsessed with pho, we have better dishes!”

And like…….. I don’t know about the rest of the world, but I grew up eating soup out of a can, or really bland homemade soup. You go from that, to a complex, mouth watering, decadent soup……… it’s a literal ratatouille moment 😂😂😂

The banh gio reminds me so much of Salvadorian tamales. So awesome to see what other cultures enjoy! ❤❤❤

I used to live in the same small city as you did. I really did love it. I know that it might get lonely without your family. In case you ever miss vietnamese ppl, I would love to invite you to our community feasts!!

If you ever do cooking videos (shorts too) to teach us how to make your traditional foods, I would be all over that and watch them all.

Her voice is so cute and sweet omgg! All my Latino bbs back me up here but the last dish looks a lot like Central American tamales! I’m from El Salvador and the dishes look super similar with the soft outside and leaf wrapping. I bet the Vietnamese one tastes amazing too!
