Total War: Attila is an adept refinement of Rome 2, with harrowing but enjoyable campaign mechanics that set it apart from the series.

Total War: Attila is literally the most difficult total war game yet. It requires A LOT of strategy. You can't just blindly conquer land because it will become unstable and you will fall apart. Love it.

What the hell is with the .1 at the end of the score?
It means literally nothing

"And a great step up from Rome 2's initially unsatisfying jumble."

IGN ranks Rome 2: 8.8

IGN ranks Attilia: 8.1

Telling us how broken rome 2 total war was, even through they gave it 8.8/10... Thats just basicly saying  we were paid for last total war review.

Does it have more than $100 worth of DLC ?
No?
Then I might give the devs my money so they can _evolve_.

Still waiting for angry joe to make a review about this game

This game is absolutely excellent for beginners of the series! Reason being is. you start from the bottom... meaning there isn't much to manage and it gives the player just enough to be entertained but not enough to be overwhelmed. instead of giving you an empire you are given a small minute area to consider and plan accordingly.

By that time in history the majority of celtic peoples had been romanised, though in Britain at least some celtic peoples still kept their ancient languages in tact

In the 90s there was a brittish TV show based on Total War.

they just recreated historical battles in the game.

#1 rule of playing any Hunnic faction, sack the city then immediately attack it again and raze it.

For an average total war game I still had a ton of fun with it. For example, after constant war my last veteran general split from my faction and my green, replacement generals struggled to subdue him.

I like this reviewer. He goes in depth more than other IGN reviewers and this review didn't feel like a sales pitch

I played all Total Wars. I loved some i hated some but the one i despise the most is Rome 2. The game had bugs, glitches, frame drops, choppy units even if 60 FPS a YEAR after launch. The forums of CA were full of WIP, fixes, lists with tons of bugs.
I didnt even finish my first playthough because the moment i breached the walls or the gates of an enemy city my game crashed. (after 50h+ of campaign where all the enemy's cities had gigantic walls)

I uninstalled the game and i dont plan to come back. Medeival 2 was the best Total war and im sticking with it.

Atilla looks promising but i do not want to pay the devs anymore.
