Thanks for this, this year I said I need to pick up game development but each time I try I think to big and lose motivation (even though I know better than to think that big as a complete beginners). It the perfect motivation I needed to truly put some effort into learning what's necessary. Thank you.

Thanks for all these tips! They are really helpful. Especially the first one, keep the scope small. Cannot agree more than that. :)

Hello, I ve stumbled upon your channel through an ad. Even tho I am an experienced developer your content is awesome so I subscribed. One question. Do you have any idea on how to make a trailer for a multiplayer unity game? I already have experience in video editing but i am curious on how i could archieve cinematic shots from offline and online scenes in unity.

One thing I did recently was make a prototype of a project that I won't be finishing anytime soon, but I've set as my main goal.
Basically I took a simple RPG style and prototyped some of the innovations to work within it at a base level. (Such as storing data of a previous turn for a Inovation Prototype). It helped me a lot to scope it out, and will hopefully help me in the future. I 100% agree that before you go rushing off trying to make a huge game, start with a "template" of what you want, and build from there. (I.E a Platformer would start like Mario, but you would develop it further to be it's own game)

Do you have an tutorial on the RTS game that was shown at the back ground?

Because i am intressted in making RTS but most tutorials expect too much or too little.
They mainly use assets with almost no programming
or they use extremely complex systems, but do not show the basis.

Thanks for video, i tried to work in Unity so many times but i dont knkw where to start. I realy enjoy playing game but i think it will be perfect to make some by myself but i dont know i'm bad at making time for it.

Hello. Thanks for starting this series, this video in particular is what I needed. I have a question to ask not sure if you are still responding. I have a goal of making a game this year but it's genre is not in anything listed here. It's a word type game and really I just want to know how to start, there are no games like it which I've seen to try and replicate and was thinking something like that could be done, but I really love your advice on working on an already existing minigame and how you simplify things. Great job man

Here's a tip for content creators making a listicle video: Make Your Own Timestamps

It's pretty annoying when you watch a video with a list of topics covered throughout, stopping midway and coming back to it later without remembering what one of the topics were. It can be just as annoying when you want to come back to said video as a reference.

You edited the video; you should try to make it easier for those people. Otherwise, you may be stuck waiting for people to make the timestamps for you... and get them wrong.

Timestamps:
Tip #1: Keep Your Scope Small - 0:20
Tip #2: Know Your Strengths - 1:35
Tip #3: Look For Help - 2:15
Tip #4: Be Consistent - 2:20
Tip #5: Be Happy with What You Made - 4:39

Tip 3 should be "ability to find proper video tutorial on your channel :) you have bunch of valuable information. Thanks for second tip, I will go logical puzzle for my next project. The game you are currently developing looks like prison architect (inspired by streamer to bought it years ago but NEVER even lunched). Why you decided to make it and not "you need an oxygen" for example? I did not know that you came to Unity from Flash. BTW how long are you developing?
