I was so happy to find an old candy store in Boone NC. I have 3 bags of goodies. Circus peanuts are my very favorite and Black Jack gum!

I look back to the candy store guy. Having to count 100 pieces of penny candy. For a simple dollar. 3 kids, each switching and swapping as he tried to keep track. Didn't want to many of the same kind. Thanks grandma for the dollar and the memory.

I'm 64, and I've enjoyed Horehound Drops since childhood. An old 5 & 10 cent store where I bought lots of penny candy sold them along with Lemon Drops, Crystal Mints, Licorice Buttons, Mary Janes, Sour Charms Pops, Black Cow, Sugar Daddy, Chick-o-stick and several varieties of Bubble Gum like Bazooka, Double Bubble, Big Buddy & Bub's Daddy. They also sold many other favorites like Odd Rods, Silly Cycles, Wacky Packs, Baseball, Football, and Basketball Bubble Gum Cards. Pixie Stix, Sweetarts, Necco Wafers, Good & Plenty, Lick-m-Ade, Turkish Taffy, Wax Teeth, Lips, and Soda Bottles.

My dad owned a country grocery store and he would let me get in the candy truck to pick out the candies for the store. Great memories❤️

Circus penuts were a favorite of mine as a kid. They were like a chewy marshmallow that tasted like bubblegum/banana.

I remember going to an old gold mine in Georgia with a little gift shop where id always get the gold nugget gum in the tiny cloth sack. Those are some good ass memories of eating gold while panning for it.

Old fashioned candy is honestly the best sort of candy ever! I live in Australia and we have got some damn good old fashioned candy stores near where i live and i love getting the liquorice sherbet bombs.
