Untwisted M1 (Make 1 increase that does not twist the stitch)

This tutorial shows how I like to do a M1 increase in a row/round that has a high volume of increases. Not twisting the increase helps to reduce any chance of puckering that may have occurred from increasing so fast.)

Hi Andrea, I didn’t like those bumps either😑 so halfway through my current yoke project I tried making a non-twisted increase as well. I’d knit the "x" number of stitches and then knit into the loop of the stitch below the next stitch, then continue and I really liked the results. No hole and lies flat. It may be an increase that's already known but I've really only done M1's and knit front and backs..so maybe it’s "wrong" but if so I don't wanna be right😜. Thanks for showing us this increase as well because if you have regular increases the holes can be a "design element"/eyelets!

I have shirt pattern that says The M1l and M1r increases stitches are made without the usual twist in the stitch in order to create a small eyelet at the increase point… your video was so helpful but I need them to lean to the right and left …it is a Ragland… we want the eyelet part
