Types of Numbers - Natural Numbers and Integers - Definition

The natural numbers and the integers are the first sets of numbers we learn about, in the different types of numbers chapter. The natural numbers, referred to using a capital N, are all of the positive whole numbers as well as zero, 0. The integers are all of the whole numbers, positive, negative and zero. The natural numbers are a proper subset of the set of integers.
