The preempt command was left off of R2, which is why you weren't seeing HSRP failover to R2 when S1/0 was brought down on R1. The rest of the lab is great. Thanks for the video.

I'm assuming the standby group number doesn't matter as long as it's the same for both routers?

At 14:21min you can see that the tracking id is different from the rest. The tracking id is 0 instead of 1, is that correct? Would that be the reason why the standby router did not show the status change messege?

I cannot open the zip file. My version is 8.0.Must I downgrade to version 6.1 in order to open the file?

hmm how is this HSRP, if the edge router is down. All networks are down?
