The first footage showing the wreckage of OceanGate Expeditions' Titan submersible has been released since the vessel’s implosion last year.

The U.S. Coast Guard Marine Board of Investigation (MBI) unveiled the video during a public hearing in North Charleston, South Carolina.

The footage, captured by a remotely operated vehicle, shows the results of the catastrophic implosion of the 22-foot submersible on June 18, 2023, resulting in the tragic loss of all five people aboard.

On June 18, 2023, five people boarded the OceanGate Titan submersible to visit the Titanic wreckage site. This was the company's third annual voyage to the site and each passenger paid $250,000 to view the wreckage.

LiveNOW's Andrew Craft spoke about the hearing with maritime expert Sal Mercogliano.

I still can't believe people paid 250K for a seat on a DIY submarine. A fool and his money are soon parted.

The fact that they called it OceanGate, they knew it was going to end with a big scandal.

it was reckless. You didn't need to be an expert in the field to realise that. The odds weren't good

Imagine paying 250k to look at the titanic thru a screen. Like the rest of the world

That thing is not a submersible. It was a Death Trap just like James Cameron has stated many times. It was never built to go that low.

Well, at least no "Uninspired White Men" were involved in its design. I'm sure it was very important to the final voyagers.

From Ocean Gate to Ocean Bait. This whole story is so frustrating. Stockton killed 4 innocent people

The ratchet strap seemed to have been the best material, it’s intact while the rest got destroyed.

I think most likely the reason we are seeing the footage now is that it wasn’t appropriate timing considering it would have been an adding insult to injury to the victims family members, but also for the fact that they needed this footage to show how Stockton Squish was an utter fool for letting his know it all ego come first before safety.
