There's an interesting debate regarding Iran's qualification - from what I heard depends on how their group phase draw will end up, but due to Iran being on the red list of US sanctioned countries, they might be forced to play their group games in Mexico and Canada. The problem comes when if they were to progress to the knockout stages and suddenly you get fixtures that are allocated to be played in the US.

I do think SA's route to the World Cup is almost all but done, pretty much only have to win two of the remaining four games and even then Nigeria hasn't been that great. Reckon they will beat Zim and Lesotho in their remaining games which should be enough. But the rest of the African qualifications will dish out a surprise team to go to the World Cup - probably Cape Verde and even Namibia has an outside chance.
