Growing up we had big Christmases and small Christmases but every year mom made sure she spent about the same on both my brother and I. She even still does it to this day. From watching this I know that's what Bonnie and Joel did for their kids. I saw bean bags because they love to watch movies in their basement, sleeping bags because they might have a fun trip planned with their dad coming up, a bow because who knows how long Cody has been asking for one off camera, a gizmo watch because Olivia is growing up and has wanted a phone for so long but just isn't quite old enough, a wood kit for Boston to build anything he wants, and a big rocket so Lincoln can use that huge imagination of his. I saw the thought and heart put into these gifts for their kids. She didn't want to get a bunch of junk but rather few gifts that would last and that they would get more use out of. Yes not everyone got the same about of presents but neither did my brother and I they years he got the newest game system or I got the newest American Girl doll.

Life isn’t always fair. It’s a great lesson for kids to see that at an early age. They will learn to adjust much faster. Most kids nowadays feel that everything has to be equal and life just isn’t that way. I’m sure the $ amount was equal. I seriously doubt they made a difference in the cost. Cody will be just fine. If they had coddled him in his disappointment, it would have only encouraged him to react that way every time. I see this video as a parenting win!!

I remember my favorite thing as a kid was coming down and seeing the small pile grow into a MASSIVE pile of presents. I’m so thankful to have grown up as blessed as I am 🙏🏾 and good for you for creating these awesome memories for your children

People need to stop commenting how ONE kid is the favorite from the other kids ! I’m PRETTY sure Bonnie and Joel love all 4 the same stop assuming if we only watch 10-30min of their life’s when there’s 24 hours In the day . And don’t POOR me this kid or the other I’m sure their great full for what Santa brought .

Bonnie- Thank you for sharing your Christmas morning with us! So sad to see all the negative comments. I am the oldest of four, and this video reminded me a lot of Christmases growing up. Of course kids are going to compare how much they got with their siblings. It's bound to happen. The way you handled it, and the way you parent your kids throughout the year, says a lot more to me :)

I Love how Cody got all gifts related to having adventures with his Dad, THAAAATTT'S what hes going to be so happy and excited when a year goes by, and when hes older he wont even remember he got less gifts he'll just remember that those gifts helped him learn, and grow and make memories with Joel.

Omgosh Bonnie, I feel ya on the kids being up all night. Our youngest is 17 and was up super early, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I love that he still gets so excited for Christmas morning. Even though I’m sure you’re tired, enjoy these times. They go by all too quick. So glad you all had such a beautiful Christmas
