Moment massive chunk of West Bay cliff falls onto beach

Shocking footage shows the moment a massive chunk of the West Bay cliff fell down onto a beach.

This video showing the collapse on 18 January was shared by Environment Agency.

It came following days of heavy rainfall, and Dorset Council launched an investigation into the incident that day, according to local reports.

The path was made to be safe for walkers once more after the ground was secured and the area was once again stable.

I was planning on building my house right on that cliff. This is disappointing.

It's obvious by the already half of the cliff gone, and the current erosion of the cliff that it's been doing this for the last 5, 000 to 6, 000 years.

3 years ago we camped very close to there. It looked dodgey looking down from above and you could see there had been many small falls of earth and or rocks. It did and does not look safe.
