Your iPhone power button is not working and you’re stuck in a jam. This video will show you how to set up the virtual AssistiveTouch button and recommend some power button replacement and repair options.

We also recommend removing your iPhone’s case, just in case your case is inhibiting your ability to press down the button.

It’s also possible that there’s a firmware issue, so when you press the power button, your iPhone’s software doesn’t register the pressing. To try and fix this, perform a DFU restore.

If the power button feels right, it does move normally when you push it. The most probable before any kind of software problem is dust. Dust is the origin of plenty of the iphone port issues. Specially the audio plug in and the charging port. Sometimes cleaning the edges of the outside part of the power button with alcohol improves the functionality. If you do that and you see some improvement in the response but still doesnt fully work normally, the device has to be opened and the power button has to be fully removed and cleaned. I disagree with you guys putting a sofware problem on top of a hardware problem such as this. Its like a doctor saying your health issues are due to psicological causes before running any test to idenify if you have any disease.

I had a cheap case that caused my lock button to completely jam, could not raise my volume with out it taking a screen shot. I was able to pop it out with a razor blade. Now its good as new👍

With an older iPhone SE here. Maybe you can try letting your phone completely die out of battery power for a couple of hours to then plugging it in for charge and starting up again. I say this cause I had been using the on screen power button as advised in this video for two weeks (it was a great big help). However, one night I accidentally let my phone battery completely die out on me. The next morning I lifted the phone and it didn’t react so I tried the power button and it was working again, showing my battery was dead and needs to be plugged in. After plugging the phone into a wall source to charge, the phone power button started working and here I am posting a comment :) Since then, the top power button has continued to work. I know this is an old phone to be dealing with but hopefully expressing this experience helps.

Amazing! Thank you! I dropped my phone and have had it repaired but unable to repair the lock button... now I don’t need to panic about my phone not locking, not being able to screen shot or turning it off 😄😄😄
