Do I REGRET buying the Mustang after driving the C8?

I talk about my post Corvette C8 driving experience and whether I regret buying the 2024 Mustang GT.

This car has the Performance Pack, active exhaust, and the incredibly bright race red paint. It also has the base interior since I only had one thing in mind with this car, driving. I wanted a back to basics approach and wanted to eliminate all that was not necessary to have a great driving experience. Did I mentioned that it has the 6 speed manual transmission?

Being a Mustang owner myself. I have seen some really good deals on used Corvette’s. So it definitely gives thought to a C8.

I have a similar background, didn't learn to drive stick until I was in my 30s. Once I did, I went all in and have had several manual vehicles since. Just recently, I traded my 2019 Shelby GT350 which I purchased used for a new 2024 C8 2LT Z51 package. While it does feel more premium and is indeed faster, I definitely miss the raw feeling of rowing my own gears in the Shelby. Wish I could afford to have both plus my daily driver!

The Mustang Is cool and the manual is definitely more visceral. The corvette is a different class of vehicle so not apples to apples.

I have a GT Premium, and I'm thinking about jumping ship to the C8. Thanks for the video.

Currently drive a C8 convertible. Have owned 4 mustangs including Gt350. Both great obviously and reasons to like both. But if you can pick up a C8 in the $60-65k area now, I mean I love mustangs obviously but it’s just an unreal car for that price and really a very different experience. I would just highly encourage anyone shopping the C8 to opt for the HTC. It’s so worth the extra $$

I just got a 2021 california special 6 speed convertible with 35k miles for 31k. One owner. Thats over 20k off new price. I would say that is the sweet spot in buying used.

I do have a two questions for you:
1. Before you bought your Mustang, did you consider or test drive any sports cars from Japan, say a Nissan Z or Toyota Supra (though it's technically German since it's a reskinned BMW Z4). If you're willing to downsize, there's also the GR86/BRZ and the MX-5, which can be more fun since you can ring them out on public roads without risking your license, but none of the options I mentioned have a V8 engine.
2. What's your viewpoint in regards to buying new vs used low-mileage cars? On one hand, the used market can give you better value for money with higher trim previous gen models (think S550 Mach 1 or Camaro 1LE). Conversely, a new car has a fresh warranty, less wear-and-tear for greater peace of mind, and of course the new car smell. Buying a new manual car in particular means you vote with your wallet to show that demand still exists, so the manufacturer is less likely to kill it off.

3:47 thats why I dont like new cars.. look how you have the auto-stop happening. RPM goes right to nothing, no idle sound. Yes I know you can press the button to turn that off. However, you have to do that every time you start the car up. Cant stand these cars that have that feature.. I'd have bought a sports car without that junk tech.

The Mustang is a good car but damn i really feel Ford missed the mark on the s650 redesign. They didn't address ANY of the issues we S550 owners conplained about - weight, mt82. Yet they added all these other issues like the weird dash layout, the bizarre GT front bumper, more weight somehow, untunable. Then the Dark Horse is just a bizarre decision at a time when everyone else was abandoning heritage. It just feels like at every turn Ford made the wrong choice with the s650. It's still a good car but just not what i was looking for to replace my s550.

My brother has a C8 and my mother traded in her 2012 Mustang GT CS for new Stang GT convertible. So I have driven both on mountain roads.
They are completely different animals. C8 definitely gives exotic experience. It’s very serious about being a great driver and you feel disappointed if you miss an apex.
The Mustang especially with active exhaust is a muscle car that wants to have fun. The exhaust note induces giggles and over all more drama.
So do you want clinical surgeon or hang out with drinking buddy who is life of the party?
Personally I’d go C8 it just feels special.
Good job learning to drive a manual. I learned by throwing myself into the fire. I just can’t go back to automatics I prefer being in control of drivetrain

I sometimes regret not just buying a C7 Z06. I couldn't find a MT locally so I quit looking. I paid 60k for an S650 and another 10k for a Whipple. yes I have a new car with 900 bhp, but I could have bought a C7 Z06 for 70k. As much as I love my S650 and as fassst as it is, it's not Z06 fast.

The mustang is a much better daily car from a practicality standpoint that’s for sure plus you can get a manual but if we were talking a strictly weekend car the corvette is a serious contender

I just can’t get into the spaceship look of the corvette… regardless of performance.

Once tuning gets unlocked the S650 will in the S550 and Nissan GTR class of destroying everything.

after buying a 650, you should have nothing but regrets.

The S650 is a rip off. For that kind of money you could get into a decent C7 or save even more with the S550. Love my C7.

You should check out eBay prices on a used C8. Some monster deals on slightly used C8's. @3:20 in the video the engine sounds like shit in this car then again @5:59 that loud shitty drone would drive me crazy. But dumb comparison the Mustang is not even close to a C8 in any category. Fess up your just a Ford Fan Boy doing some click bait.
If you really want some fun in a 6 speed manual check out the Toyota GR86. Its a car made in collaboration with Subaru Toyota Gazoo Racing. Boxer engine 228 H 6 speed manual car it is a blast to drive. Track car. Fun car. You cannot find one bad review on YT.
