After 4 months of owning the DJI MAVIC 3 drone do i regret buying it? Has the firmware updates helped? Do I still recommend this?

I had a Mini and Air 2 and the Pro 2, I sold them all and purchased the Mavic 3, the Air 2 S and RC Pro. I have no regrets in buying the Mavic 3. The Mavic 3 is the best drone I have owned. The Mavic 3 has outstanding video and it is great for still photography and a pleasure to fly using the RC Pro.. With my previous drones I used a Apple Mini and was great if you were in the shade, when the sun or a bright cloudy day it was useless. The RC Pro has a vivid display and you can use ii in bright skies and in the sun. My only complaint I have is the price. I'm lucky that I live in the southern area of Vancouver Island, we usually get one or two small snowfalls in the winter that meltes in two to four days.

I've had the Mavic 2 zoom enterprise for 8 months. Got my M3 today. I just fly around exploring. The zoom is amazing. So clear even at 28 times! That alone makes it worth it but there's so many big improvements.

Thank god I don’t need this drone 😅 I think Air2s still the drones for me. Mavic 3 can sound really good but I don’t think I can use all its features. Thank you so much for the video!

Darren, first and foremost, thanks for all you do for the drone community. Your information and training have helped me so much. As for the Mavic 3, I'm on the fence (mostly due to cost) but I know right now it's the best on the market. I've got the Mini 2 and the Air 2s and they are great but the Mavic 3 combines everything I'm looking for on one drone. Even with the Mini 3 coming out I will more than likely buy the Mavic 3 before the spring. Thanks again brother for all you do!

I got my 2 months ago and I have no regrets. My only complaint is the gps, sometimes I burn 5% battery waiting for the home point to locked. I will definitely use your advice and hover. Thanks for the video, excellent as always. 🙌🏼

On the phone issue, if it’s an iPhone go to settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > turn off auto-brightness at the bottom.

Hi Darren i was out flying a few hours ago with the Mavic 3 amd i done exactly as you said, got to tge location and took off and hovered a few meters high and waited for the home point to be updated and it took maybe a minute rather than the 7/8/9 minutes it has been taking, still not ideal but it gets us up flying a lot faster, I'm loving the Mavic 3 but i had the DJI fpv out today as well and every time i fly in manual I'm blown away, the drone is bonkers such fun, i brought a mate along who's never flown a drone before and let him have a go with the Motion controller in Sport's mode and I've never seen someone go from awe to fear to happy in the space of a few minutes, think I've recruited a new drone member today, great vid by the way 👍

I had the Air 2 and decided to get the Mavic 3, but only recently after the updates. I’m happy with it. It’s so stable and the videos from it are unmatched. Video quality and flying stability are really key for me (though not enough to get the Cine). I’m complementing it with a Mini (waiting for the 3) and then I’ve got a nice range of convenience and quality.

I'm glad to see DJI is correcting the measures on this drone. As a hobbyist, I went with the Air 2 S and picked up the fly more package with the RC Pro controller for $1750 in the states. It was a no brain er for me. I also picked up the DJI FPV drone fly more package as well. I did all that in the last two months for not much more than the price of the Mavic 3. So one would really need to have a serious purpose for the 3 to spend that kind of money. Right now I have the best of both worlds, as I really wanted to explore the FPV side of drone flying. No regrets here. Thanks for the update on your experience with the Mavic #, Cheers from Utah.

I just ordered one just got tired of the lower end drones losing video feed at Less than half transmission range. I like the peace of mind knowing I’m always in control. Holy stone needs to pay attention to these issues if they are going to stay in the game. Very informative thanks.

I ike my M3. Its not without annoyances - including the GPS thing, the jump from 4x to 7x zoom, and a tendency to climb itself as it thinks its seen an object - but the camera and the flight time make it unbeatable. I hope these things will get sorted in future firmwares. I have 4 batteries, which is ideal when on trips, as it allows a fresh battery at each location.

I still have my M2, as it looks like there are no plans to add proper waypoints to the M3 :(. I still have my Mini 2 due to less restrictions.

You hit on the key in making the decision to buy; do you need it, or do you want it. It's easy to get distracted by the shiney new gadget but, do you need it? I've looked at it and it looks great but, as little a percentage of my work that needs aerial, I have to shake that off and stick with my old Phantom 4 Pro, it still shoots great and gets the job done. just a little bulky dragging around.

In the Netherlands i got 36 satellites within a minute last sunday. But sometimes, if i have issues, i restart the drone. Most of the time that fixes the slow satellite retrieval. I agree, its a great drone. I love it since day 1.
