It's not a gamble as some comments seems to think, it's safe if the establishment is clean and safe, buys good quality fish and the chef is well trained.

it's safe to eat as long as it's good quality, isn't on the verge of rotting and you kill all the bacteria by putting it in a freezer for 48 hours or something else

People need to start considering what may actually be in the fish depending where it came from such as mercury obviously not exclusive to raw fish but still I'm pretty weary about seafood in general

It depends on the source, just randomly caught in the wild is not necessarily safe unless it’s prepared correctly.
Most commercially farmed fish though is completely safe.

If you think about it, no food is 100% safe but you don't think about it when you eat a bag salad, jar of salsa, or lunch meat. We select a good brand and eat. I love sushi.

It’s not, but if you really like it, it’s worth it. Even “safe” raw fish can’t be considered safe safe, you’ve probably got a worm or two in you😊
