Adding Your Audiobook to Findaway Voices Step-By-Step Tutorial | How To Self-Publish Your Audiobook

Last week I showed you the step-by-step process of how to upload your audiobook to ACX. Today I am showing you how to do this for Findaway Voices. I’ve talked about this platform in the past, so you can check out all of those videos here.

A few caveats before we get started:

I recorded this audiobook myself, so I am not going through the process of finding, auditioning, or selecting a narrator.
I recorded this while my baby girl was taking her nap, so if I am talking fast it is because I wanted to get it all in before she woke up. For those of you who don’t know, you CAN control the speed of the videos you watch on youtube, there is a little button in the bottom corner

Note: If you're from Canada, for example, you need to create a Tax ID number for the US, in order to not be dinged with a 30% tax on your sales! You'll need to get the requisite document, fill it in and send it the IRS.

Hi MK. Good job on the video. I didn't hear what you said about Audible when you deselected it.
My understanding is that Amazon requires 7-year exclusivity when creating a video via ACX. That limits distribution to Amazon, Apple, and one other. If one instead creates the audiobook using narrators from Findaway Voices and distributes through FV to Amazon, then the royalty compensation is slashed in half. Is it possible to create on Findaway but then upload directly to Amazon to secure a higher royalty while avoiding exclusivity to Amazon? My scenario is a bit different from yours in that I need a voice actor and presumably a platform on which to find one and create the files.

I have an eBook amazon via KDP. If I publish my audiobook to Audible via Findaway Voices, will the audiobook be "added" to the kindle ebook page, so people can see it is available in both eBook and audiobook? I would hate if people do not realise my book is on audio when looking at my KPD eBook... Thank you for good content.

Why do you upload onto audible independently - doesn't FAV pay out a higher royalty than audible? - when it populates from FAV to audible?
