Can you self-publish audiobooks with ACX and Findaway Voices? | Self-Publishing Questions and Tips

To be able to add your book to both platforms you need to be in an non-exclusive deal with ACX which you will need to select when you start the project and claim your title. Same with Findaway Voices, you need to deselect Audible and Amazon from their services since you’ll already have that covered with ACX.

Because the deal will be non-exclusive, I highly recommend that you bring your own files and either record and edit yourself or work directly with a voice actor and compensate them upfront for their work. When you do a royalty deal with a narrator through ACX you lock into the exclusive contract. Makes sense, right? If you just took the files and uploaded them somewhere else, you would need to make sure that voice actor got their royalty cut and most good people would do that but some people are jerks, so they don’t let you do a non-exclusive royalty share deal with a narrator. Protects everyone.

Hello MKWilliams, I want to publish my book that is already on audible since 2021 to findaway voices but I’m getting a little bit confused on which date to use for the “copyright date and production copyright date” on findaway voices.

Secondly, while trying to publish, I was asked if the book has been published before. Should I choose yes or no?
Please note that the book has been published on audible platform but under non-exclusive.

If I publish non-exclusive with ACX I receive a 25% royalty at Amazon etc. If I publish with Findaway I receive an 80% royalty. So am I better off going exclusive with Findaway to receive a higher royalty at Amazon?
