PMJ are just excellent, Scott Bradley's arrangements are genius and his ability to choose the perfect singer for the song is uncanny. Morgan's performance is as always simply sublime.

I LOVE your reaction!!! This is how I feel listening to Morgan James all the time.
The first time I heard this cover I just couldn't get Steven Tyler's voice out of my head. It wasn't until I listened for the third time that I could truly appreciate Morgan's cover. Now I'm like, "Steve who??? Oh, isn't he that guy that covers Dream On?" JK of course, no disrespect to Steven at all.
Morgan studied opera at Julliard and has played on Broadway. She has her own band and is married to the guitar player, Doug Wamble. She also is an indy under Hedonist Records LLC.

𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗠𝘆 𝗡𝗮𝗺𝗲, Prince - Prince rarely gives permission to record his songs but within 5 minutes of hearing Morgan's cover, he said yes.

𝗔𝗶𝗻'𝘁 𝗡𝗼 𝗪𝗮𝘆, Aretha Franklin - Morgan holds a note for an amazing 24 seconds @ 1:42 into the video. I get frisson every time I hear it!

And just for the fun of it, here's one that I recorded the first time I saw her in concert at The Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis, MN doing her title track 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗔𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻.

So yeah, I'm a Morgan fan. Big time.

I had the same feeling when I first watched and listened to this performance. Totally mind-blowing. Then I got into all of Morgan James's music. Very worthwhile. She's a major talent, and a really cool person. Should be world-famous. But she decided to make good music rather than "play the game" with record companies. She chose art over mega-stardom. Massive respect.

I swear, Maunalee, when Morgan came off that note just before the cello solo and then during the cello solo you looked like you were eight years old. You literally looked like a little girl in the middle of an amusement park. What a great reaction. You are SUCH a cool lady. I've not listened to everything on PMJ but you can't go wrong with anything by Morgan or Haley Reinhart ("Black Hole Sun" and "Seven Nation Army" are crowd favorites). "All about that bass" is nice and sassy too.

You are asking the same questions many of us have asked many times...why is Morgan James not on everyone’s music list? I had the privilege of seeing her live at a supper club in Philadelphia in February 2020...fabulous. Her band includes her guitarist/manager/producer/husband, Doug Wamble. They are a tour de force.
