Why Did Anakin Skywalker HATE Sand in Star Wars?

Damn, the writer of this comic REALLY wanted with all those flashbacks to make the fight between Vader and Sand look like the most momentous, perfectly build over the years event in the entire story of Star Wars 😅

I get why the "I hate sand" quote is hated, but I think that scene made a pretty interesting analysis on how Anakin and Padmé, having radically opposite childhoods, view things in a very different way. Also, it's better than "Somehow Palpatine returned" 😅

It's quite sad to think that the planetary dump known as Tatooine was once a beautiful plant paradise, which was corrupted by the Rakata and their "GAS GAS GAS" philosophy.

It's funny because AS A KID I knew the sand was a metaphor for his life on Tatooine. I was like 12 years old btw, and grown adults who watched the Originals couldn't figure that out.

I think he hates it because it reminds him of Tatooine. The place where he grew up that he hated so much, where he was a slave and him and his mother were mistreated and so on. Since Tatooine is a sandy planet it would make sense why Anakin feels such a hatred toward sand

I know this line gets a lot of hate but I imagine it also reminds him of his early years as a slave, as well as the mother he was forced to leave behind. Compare that with the “here and now” when he and Padme are on Naboo, a beautiful lush vibrant world full of life. I honestly thought Hayden did a good bloody job playing the awkward teenager/young adult. Unlike other Jedi he grew up with feelings and when you’ve got a crush on someone you do act weird. He was obviously trying to flirt with Padme but he was on a knife’s edge between a normal life and a life dictated by the strict tenets of the Jedi Order. I still think the romance stuff between Anakin and Padme would have been better if they reinserted the deleted scenes, especially the ones where we meet Padme’s family and we see Anakin get to know them. It kind of makes it that bit more tragic when, in the next movie, you see her father mourning the death of his daughter at the hands of the man he had welcomed into his home in AOTC.

Its a silly line but honestly, if I grew up enslaved on a planet that was 90%+ sand then I would probably hate sand by association too.

Dude if I was Anakin and I saw Rey burry my lightsaber in the SAND I would unleash a force supernova destroying the entire planet and making sure Rey suffers the most.
