A General Counsel's perspective on "Why Axiom?"

Hello. My name is James Turoff. I am the General counsel at the Hershey Company.

It used to be your only options were you had a big law firm or you've got more of the secondment type model. And that's kind of the delta that's always existed between big firm and ALSP. [But] there's this whole suite of work that falls in between.

I think Axiom's model of blending that traditional secondment world—which we know and have tested and have used really well—with a more traditional law firm model is providing a much different value point than what the big law firm typically does, [and] is exactly what we've been waiting for and hoping would develop. And to see it actually develop now is really exciting.

We're [now] starting with, "Tell me why Axiom couldn't do this." Only if Axiom isn't the right choice, then we'll go somewhere else. Not, "We'll, we've always gone to firm X, Y, Z, and they know us, and they've got the relationship, and ... you know ... it's easier to go with them."

Only if Axiom can't do it, then we'll talk about the big law firm.
