For anyone who wondering why it not work, just hold ALT button then try again. It like changing the building mode

I'm still having trouble putting mini steps on a foundation that's on the ground level. It'll be highlighted red and saying that it overlaps with other objects or characters when there's nothing around me :(

I wonder if they got rid of the ability to do this. Mine will snap into place but it’ll turn red like I can’t place it. There are no pals, obstacles, or anything in the way either. I can get the roof to work, but not the stairs. Ugh, I just want some mini stairs!! 😫

For anyone maybe struggling with the mini stairs, I have tried in so many spots and some work and some don't. I think for the people who are still struggling it might just be because of the spot they are building in. It's like certain parts of the ground don't allow for the mini stairs 😢

Downward staircases are old mechanics. It took me forever to figure out how some people were connecting down anymore. People have been saying use Alt, but that hasn't worked for me. What has worked for me is to build a staircase up FIRST, then connect downward to the staircase. Lastly eliminate the top staircase and you got it. If alt works for you, great. If not, try that. That's what worked for me.

i found a solution if u alt tab when ur trying to lock onto place the stairs it shld glitch and lock into place after alt tabing

Can pals climb stairs? For some reason mine don't.

if people are still struggling try holding ALT. it will allow the stairs to grab different sections

In this latest version of palworld, I dont think so its possible to make even mini stairs, the stairs will only can be built upwards and not downwards, it sucks but its the truth i guess.

I'm on the Xbox sX, version. I can't snap the stairs to a floor, no matter how tall the floor is, except that the stairs attach on top of the floor. Not beside the floor and descending down from it like yours.
I did it half a year ago on the Xbox One version of the game. But now, it's like they caught on and said "Nope, no logical real life alignment of builds for you"

The game has now been updated so it should all snap easier

Yeah I’m not sure but only on Xbox version do I have this issue. I’m on a very easy spot where I’ve even built steps on my steam version but I guess the early access just isn’t there yet. Sucks because where the entrance is if I’m overweight I won’t be able to get inside.

Same with me.. my base is literally flat, no objects around, no pals no nothing and mini stairs still won’t snap… I iust want mini stairs that’s all.
