As a Brazilian, it is also a very common tradition to sleep in the afternoon, specially after lunch! It just feels so refreshing to do everything else during the day after a short nap :)

It's because we wake up at 5:30 when the sun rises, and we get so exhausted by the midnoon heat that a cool nap is refreshing 😴

My indian family too!! I used to nap too but then i went to uni and now on off days I'm home being the only one who's awake just sitting in a corner talking to myself 😭

This was definitely a cultural shock for me when I visited Vietnam. Everyone got up around 4am to go and enjoy the cool morning. And during noon when it was super hot, no one was out. Then towards late evenings everyone came back out.

As a Filipino, we were also trained since kids that we need to take a nap after lunch. I used to sneak out a lot, but now I take my noon naps again. 😂

I’m from the American south and grew up near my grandparents tobacco farm. Everyday at 12:00 NOON PRECISELY, we all had to take a nap. Adults, kids, cats, dogs, goldfish..it did not matter who..we all had to go to sleep. I remember it so fondly. And I remember the humming of the electric fan blowing across my body and the light sweat trickling down my skin..ohh what a sweet, sweet memory. 🥰

I get up at 6 a.m. I feel this on a spiritual level. A cool, midday nap is ecstasy 😂❤

When I was a kid in the Philippines we'd do this too and my dad would force me to sleep because everyone in the family is :( Now I wish I appreciated the free time to be able to nap 😭 And it hits hard to nap when it's raining too

If you walk around the neighborhood at 430am everyone is sweeping their front yard, going to market, walking their dogs 😅😂😂😂 they deserve that nap
