This song is about Anly's producer's mother, who was 92 years old at the time this song was made.
She was 15 years old during WWII and was forced to volunteer as a nurse for the Japanese military.
When surrounded by the enemies, she tried to kill herself with hand a grenade, but her aunt told her to get rid of the grenade, and they were captured by the U.S. soldiers was saved.
When Anly was having dinner with her one night during Covid 19, 92 old grandma said, " Anly, if you give up, it's over." She felt like a bolt of lightning hit her. Time was terrible, and it seemed like nothing was going well for her, but 92-year-old grandma's words gave her the courage to move forward.
So Anly made this episode into a song, "Alive."

I’m here waiting for the new album “26ml” and I’m just reminiscing on how good the “Quarter” album was when it came out last year around this same time. Unfortunately my grandmas has passed away during the year after the “Quarter” album was released and it’s thanks to this song I visited her more than usual and spent good quality time with her thanks to this song. Thanks for the music Anly.

本当に見れば見るほど味わい深い感動的なMVだと思う。







本曲は別に大上段構えなメッセージソングでは決してないのだ。

MVの後半でロケ地である伊江島の住民達が彼女を囲う。
黙ったまま、しかしどこか自信に溢れた確信に満ちた表情で。


ここで肩を寄せ合い合唱する展開が予想されるのだが、



それが「【生命（いのち）を鳴らせ】」という事なのだろう。
Alive、とは正に静寂のanthemだと思う。
