Whoa! Sorry about those couple mistakes that got left in! It seems my program auto uploaded my 'second to last' draft instead of the final draft. I know why it did that and it won't happen again! Embarrassing and deep apologies for those hiccups!

As a table top enthusiast, many of my friends are usually coming into the night with absolutely no knowledge of the game or game play. This product would sit well with other table top games, and I can't imagine tearing it apart just for the cards. I think this product has amazing potential to throw Magic into any VERY casual game night with non-magic players.

I ordered this box to help teach my students magic. I work for Job Corps, and my students do not have a lot of money to spend on cards so I thought this would be a fun alternative for them and also to learn how to upgrade decks. We have a local shop that runs tournaments for us and gives them store credit for their winning placements so that they can get better and more cards later on. I am hoping that this helps keep them engaged in Magic.

This is one of the most honest reviews I've watched on The Professor's channel. Thank you.

Seems like a good deal for something you can just pull off the shelf and play with others who perhaps have never played Magic before.

4:56 contains a simple line switcheroo where the Sphinx is iterated twice in a row with two conflicting staments; one saying the Sphinx is the lowest priced and another saying the Goliath is the lowest.

Professor, that was a really good intro.

My first set I truly "collected" was Mirage. My friend and I each bought two booster packs at a video game shop. His first opening, he got a Shivan Dragon from the 5th edition booster pack. I was so jealous. MY first rare was Lion's Eye Diamond. I was so jealous of his Shivan Dragon, but I kept to collecting Mirage set. Coming from a poor family, I didn't have money to buy many booster packs back then, but I did get to around collecting 300+ cards. More than 20 years later, my first Lion's Eye Diamond is now 200$, roughly. I can remember I had about 3 to 4 of these all in mint condition. I gave them all to my nephews a couple years ago, but they manage to lose all the cards. lol. Even then, Lion's Eye Diamond from Mirage set was only at most 5$ a few years ago.

Well, felt like reminiscing and also want to say, prices will change, but these cards are soo priceless, personally. MTG was my childhood afternoons.

Professor, I found this set at my local game store for $29 just yesterday! Totally worth it for that price.

Thanks for this. My wife is new to magic and I haven't really played since Kamigawa block, but we've both gotten into Magic thanks to MTG Arena. We're slowly expanding into picking up some physical cards with Planeswalker decks and the gift set, and this was on our list to be purchased next.

I bought a Game Nights box not only for the exclusive mythics (which I will put to use in Commander decks), but mostly for decent beginner decks for teaching Magic to friends who come over for game nights. In my opinion, the mono-color decks work great for new players trying to find their play style.

So how would this compare to a box of Game Afternoon or the more elusive Game Morning?

If you look at it as a generic board game for non magic the gathering players, it falls in the price range of typical board games. IMO it should be seen as such!

I followed your tip from the Guild Kits video and bought all 5 of them, now I’m looking forward to the next 5 kits.
Thanks Professor !

It’s a good beginners product as well as value product. I prefer to keep the decks as it and treat the box as a separate game rather than combining the decks or picking it apart for cards, though it can be done if that is what you wish.

10/10 would recommend for beginners and pro players who want to get people into magic without burning a hole in your pocket!

I love how professional and informative you are. Your videos are always worth a watch to me, as they provide excellent value.

It seems much more fun to build your own "game night" box. Even if you set a budget of £7-10 per deck you could put something vastly more interesting together and tailor it to your style and what you enjoy. Watching this has actually inspired me to do so. 5 Kharns tribes decks each featuring the leaders from Fate Reforged and then a £10 budget ontop of that.

I've watched this video twice now. Once before ordering and once after. I've been playing magic for about 15 years now both on paper and digitally. I lost all my paper cards about seven years ago from a house fire and never thought I'd want to collect again. I recently changed my mind after a coworker made a paper version of his cycling deck from arena. In response, I built a variation of my beloved colorless eldrazi arena deck but with spawnshire of ulamog as a main win condition. I live in a remote area on the California coast and I want some of my other coworkers to give the game a chance. This seems like the perfect way to teach people magic. It, s magic at its simplest form. I don't care about the over all value of the cards.I will definitely sleeve them though and it's unfortunate that they won't fit in the box after.

Hey The booklet page at 1:11 says that each of the mono colored decks can be mixed and matched by their symbols to create balanced two-color decks for play. How is the experience of doing this to you? Does it provide any additional value as an educational tool for new magic players that are still learning about the game, or learning about card definitions and the like?

I really enjoyed the rhyming at the beginning and also you bringing up the point about it being a personal opinion. I enjoy your opinions
