You shouldn't have cut her hair more than she wanted to. That can destroy her self confidence completely especially at her age. I remember when I was around her age my mother conspired with my hairdresser and had my hair cut into a boy cut. I was so traumatized after that I didn't get a haircut for 4 years after that and till now I cut my own hair
