Dropping a Humvee from a Plane

When the military needs to get an 8,000 pound humvee in to the middle of contested territory, they call up the US Airmen from the 16th Airlift Squadron.

Watch as they drop eight military convoy vehicles from over 5,000 feet in the sky!

Gigantic planes like the C-17 Globemaster III and AC-130 Hercules are used to drop the vehicles, which then use a parachute system to safely land on the ground below.

Isn't AC 130 the gunship, bc as far as I know C stands for Cargo type aircraft and A for attack and since A is before C it shows what the aircraft was modified into. It should be C 130? Right?

Globemaster isn't exactly planes that'd fly in 'contested' areas either.

In reality it'll Chinook or Pavelow helicopters that'll deliver rides from shorter distance.

The AC-130 is the strike gunship, the cargo center being converted into a command center. The C-130 Hercules is the propeller cargo aircraft used in other situations.

Correction, the AC-130 Hercules is a gunship, not a cargo plane, as shown by the A in the AC designation. (Attack Cargo) The plane that does airdrops things is the C-130, no A.(Cargo)

For a second I thought they use the attack gunner for cargo but they have a another one
A130 is attack and C130 is cargo
