Just being able to say the words "I own a knife made by This Old Tony" is such a powerful statement. Only foreshadowed by, "I own the very FIRST knife made by This Old Tony."

You own “The” This Old Tony knife. There is no other like it. Honestly, I’m a bit jealous.
Merry Christmas everyone!

When she opened that knife I literally teared up. TOT is amazing and I’m glad he brought me to your channel because you’re amazing!!!

Darn it Ms. Foxlin, you had me tearing up when you explained that this knife from Master Maker This Old Tony was the first knife you had been gifted. And that bench top was awesome! Thank you for letting us in on the process.

I love this tradition, I watched old Tony make this knife and teared up a little when you spoke about knife traditions and it being your knife, I remember getting my first knife and realized I have never given one to my daughter I’m going to fix that!. So glad to discover your channel. 😊

This old Tony sent me back here with his time machine to subscribe early so I don't end up missing out on all your videos like I did in the future, by the way your video celebrating 10 million subscribers was AMAZING.

The part at the end about getting "/the/ knife" hit home for me. Mine is an original Leatherman PST my Papa gave me after getting sick of me borrowing(read: stealing) it all the time, and it sort of officially became mine when he passed--in that he specified in his will that it would pass to me along with his swiss army knife.

Not only did This Old Tony give you your first knife, he gave you his first knife also. That is quite an honour. I love the table. Coming from an IT background, that is a project that may inspire me to do something similar. I hope you had an awesome holiday!!

@17:05 It doesn't sound corny at all. It's an old tradition for boys but we really do need to expand it to everyone. Knife use, maintenance, and safety is for everyone. And you responded exactly as everyone should when they get their first knife @16:25, "I wanna cut something. What can I cut?" Love it.

It was beautiful to witness your rite of passage into makerhood, receiving your first knife from a master. You earned it long ago. Oh yes, the table was great too.

"This salvaged cedar was used as a concrete form" *sheds a single tear for the planer knives*

As a boy who remembers his first knife 30 years later I teared up a bit when you mentioned that girls need that too. Great job.

Nice video as always (I really enjoyed how much you talked about fixing the issues, it's something that lots of people gloss over or don't explain!)

All the creator cross-overs were SO cool too. When Lindsay was on screen, I explained to my daughter "I met her at maker camp, she's a big ball of sunshine and happiness." Also - the TOT Knife, wow! That's super amazing.

Xlya, I rarely get seriously jealous of other people’s stuff, but you have the very definition of uniqueness in your hands: a ‘first knife’ of your own as a ‘first knife’ made by TOT… the world is a better place now that I know that. Gorgeous table, too: no wonder Boatle Tote sponsors you! Keep being amazing, please!!

“You never have as many clamps as you think you have”. That was pure wisdom. 😀 Desk looks awesome!

That boyhood knife story hit home with me. My daughters are 12 and 10 now. It's been just a couple years ago when I gave them their first knife. It's a proud moment.

Your struggles for flatness notwithstanding, that table is a stunning work of art.
