What do I really think of the upcoming Ryzen 7000X3D CPUs? Is there any difference between XMP and EXPO and what is DirectStorage really all about?

00:00 Introduction
01:01 What are your thoughts on the upcoming Ryzen 7000X3D series of CPUs? And what do you think about the rise of GPU
prices these past years? Where do you think it will go?
07:57 Thoughts on direct storage? Will you do any testing of it in Forspoken in the near future?
11:32 Any recommendations for a UPS for a high power gaming rig + monitor. Or any plans to make a guide for how to buy and what it all means? I've been meaning to get one for ages, just don't really know what I need.
13:55 Is there really any difference between XMP & EXPO RAM / Intel optimised Vs AMD optimised
17:44 Why do a lot of"Asus" and "MSI" 4000 flagship GPUs has so much coil whine and "Gigabyte" models not? Also on AMD, "Powercolor" 7000 Gpus has a lot of coilwhine, XFX and Sapphire doesn't.
21:06 Out of all the cases you have reviewed which would you say is your fave?
25:33 With ARM developments like Apples M2 and generally becoming much better than it used to be, do you think we could see a shift to ARM from Intel/AMD?
28:08 Will CPU performance ever become a deciding factor at 1440p and 4K or will we always be GPU limited at higher resolutions?
34:13 The usual, best upcoming products you're looking forward to?
38:07 Best budget build for 2023?

Will you be picking up one of the new 7000X3D processors when they launch?

Concerning UPSes and gamers, I'm a network engineer and let me explain why they're very important for home use. Firstly, they'll prevent lighting from destroying your PC or any other expensive electronics like TVs, etc. I've lost PSUs, motherboards, and TVs to strikes here in Houston. Secondly, a good UPS cleans your power. If you have voltage instability, low voltage, or any other voltage abnormalities it will insulate your computer from that. This goes hand in hand in keeping your PSU and PC stable. It's good for overclocking. Lastly, it keeps your PC from shutting off randomly which can even corrupt data on an SSD if it's writing. You don't have to be an enterprise user to get an UPS. Avoid APC and buy Tripp Lite or Cyberpower (I'll explain why if you ask).

Thanks for the informative video!
Just a correction though, QHD (1440p) is not 4 times 1080p (FHD), rather 4 times 720p (HD). 4K on the other hand is indeed 4 times 1080p.

Thank you for covering Microsoft Flight Simulator. Few reviewers cover this title.

Would you please do a side by side high end (1000W to 1600W inclusive) PLATINUMATX 3.0 PSU comparison video? With electricity so expensive we want a PSU with max efficiency to save on energy bills (platinum better than just gold rated), & as GPUs keep needing more & more power, & these PSUs should last at least 10yrs, a 50% latency above the minimum recommended 1000W for RTX4090 PC seems sensible.

If not going to make a video, could you please recommend a 1500W PLATINUM rated ATX 3.0 (with new GPU smart power cable) PSU? I'm open to 1600W if not 1500W.

I was fortunate enough to buy the 7950X on release day, at $100 off, which has been an unbelievable processor for that price. But I'd be lying if I said I was not excited for the 7950X3D to see if VR games in higher resolutions will benefit at all or if it will be a story of GPU limited without any boost in performance. Even if the 1% lows improved it would be a win in high end PCVR titles.

I need the extra cores for my pc and uses, but VR gaming is what I prefer to increase in performance. The days of less than using the 8 core CPUs are behind me so hearing the 7950X3D was releasing with 16 cores had me extremely excited and shocked. I'm really curious how Windows handles the extra cache on just one of the CCDs, and how they messes with performance for my workstation and PCVR gaming.

But I would be glad to sell my 7950X for say a $200 loss and buy the 7950X3D if there was a meaningful increase in performance. I had planned on getting an X3D CPU for the 7000 series if a 16 core ever released. I've had a solid 5 months use of the 7950X and can't wait to see what benchmarks and real life usage shows.

Regarding the coil whine question: I have this Sapphire RX 6900 XT Special Edition. It has the WORST coil whine I've EVER heard. I hear it super loud from one end to the other of my appartment even if the PC is just left idling on the desktop without doing anything at all and the only way to shut it up is cause it to do extreme work load and as soon as that's over, it whines again. It's been doing that since the very first second of use brand new. I've had coil whine on plenty of products in the past but nothing comes close to this Sapphire card which I've just shelved because it's impossible to use without going insane. So yea, Sapphire isn't immune to having bad whine.
...
I also have absolutely no idea what any of your car references mean. To me, as long as a car has 4 wheels and a motor and it moves, that's all I care to know.
