I need to decide between JBL MK2 2.1 deep bass and JBL 300. The second one is more modern and has 5 channels, but for music use, having a subwoofer is always a plus

Nice improvements by JBL but I own the 5.1 surround and I paid only $299.00 for it back in 2019 and am keeping it possibly forever with Chromecast built in its just a plus and that 10" wireless sub is just thumping.

I recently brought the bar 1000 and I’m a bit disappointed with how loud it is at max volume especially for music,
It seems to me that JBL has volume limited the bar as max volume is only 32.
My old TCL ray danz (paid $300 aud) which had 570 watts and a smaller subwoofer was louder for music.
For movies and television shows I love the bar 1000 and I love not having to have the speakers attached to power.
Overall it’s a great bar and I think 95% of people will be happy with it but I expected more for the price and specs.

I had big problems with the JB 700 connecting to a TCL 65 inch tv… had to use the optical connection ports to get it to go on when you turn on the TV !

Hello. The 800 has no dts codec. Only atmos. Is that a problem when I watch movies on ultra blu ray or netflix

Thank you for posting this video - it is helpful for trying to decide on a purchase. Right now, I'm swaying between the JBL Bar 500 and the Samsung HW-800B. 90% TV use (cable box, streaming services, etc), 10% room music use (BT connection). The sub on the JBL is worlds better, but the Dolby Atmos sounded better on the Samsung. When I tested each at a Big Box store, I didn't know about the voice enhance feature on the JBL. Will that close the soundstage gap comparison for these two? Also, there are not many reviews on this unit on Amazon, etc. Can you share if they are having any inheritent problems with this unit? Thanks much.

Thanks for the review. Is it OK to leave the detachable surrounds attached to the main bar? Do they still work or do they just charge?

Detachable surround speakers were Great ! This soundbar has atmos but unfortunately can't give the feel of 5.1 surround sound.

From your experience, how is the power of the Polk Magnifi AX 7.1.2 New speaker compared to the JBL Bar 1000 subwoofer? And is it critical that Polk has no room correction and no internet access?
