Yes, but you want to wrap the zip tie around twice and put the "buckle" of the ziptie on the crossover. That way it has a smooth clamping pressure with no gap under the "buckle".

My alignment shop recently tried this "trick" on my inner tie rod boot, which then kept leaking grease. I had to fix their "trick" myself by going to the dealer, buying an OE clamp and installing it myself to finally stop the grease from leaking out. Shortcuts 🙄🤦‍♂️

I would guess the little ones work better because they flex and stretch more than larger ones.

You can actually get zip ties with a curved lock so it fit hoses and other round object perfectly.
