I had a teacher that worked in oil and gas as a physicist but he did quite a bit of on site work. He hated every moment of it. He was payed extremely well, mid to high 6 figures by the end. He did it for the money but he was constantly on notice, always travelling with zero warning, missed a lot of important life events... And was working in pretty much the least green industry you could. He eventually left, had enough money to retire so he did. He got bored after like, a year and got his teaching certification and started teaching physics. Brilliant man, the best teacher I've had by far. Never ever ever gave up on someone when they needed help and could explain things in what felt like an infinite amount of ways. If you didn't understand it this way he could find a way to make it make sense for you.
