I love that you're not afraid of self inflating mattresses or bright paint choices! Very cool project!

It seems like we are all racing for who can do the fastest fast forwards in our videos!

I've been wanting to put a Murphy bedroom in a spare bedroom. Your tutorial is going to save me so much time. Thanks Steve!

Hi Steve, I liked yr videos. Please show us more projects that requires only, handsaw, drill, 2×4 etc. Most people don't have bulky, expensive shop equipment.

I love that you have all the tools anyone will ever need.

Your house is painted just like your projects! Cracked me up.

You skipped over the part I wanted to see most. How did you put the bed onto the spring levers?

lol  "favorite deep disembodied voice!"   Love the bed! Mattress looked very nice and it really did come to life. I saw a show once where they ran over a memory foam mattress with a "steam roller"  you know those pavement flattener things and it came back to its original shape no problem.
Really nice project!

I play all your videos at 1.25 speed because I don't have a lot of time to watch, but thanks for all your help. You're instructions have been indispensable.

I thought you were going to let that mattress spring open on top of you.  lol  That's the most cheerful Murphy Bed I've ever seen!  Nice work sir!

I like, no surprise there. I live in a rented home, so I didn't want to bolt a Murphy mechanism to the floor, so I used a kit from Create-a-bed, their plans are fully diagramed and the guy there cutomized the plans and the gas lift system for my, already owned, overized, pillow topped, king size mattress, for no extra charge. I love it.

The kit you used here appears to also allow for minimum overhead mounting with minimum modification to the house, I like it, the build seems simpler cause the design is way less ornate, you appear to have made up for that with your bold paint choices, great job.

By the way those special screws are like the ones found in most IKEA flat packed furniture (I have assembled literally tons of them), they appear to be designed for holding different forms of that really heavy particle/press board they use, it pulls together and holds stuff together that is quite a bit weaker than plywood, so should work great here.

I sleep on one of these every night, its a lot of fun to get the space back in the morning :-)

Nice work! Thanks for using cleats, brackets and straight screwing (instead of pocket holes). This is more of a real DIY job that regular guys can handle. Thanks for sharing!

Refreshing to see a color other than "clear coat".   You did a great job on the bed.

Congrats on getting renewed sponsorship from Micro-Jig. I bought a couple of these before I started watching your videos and find them so very useful in many different ways for the table saw, jointer, & router.

I didn't know you could make your own murphy bed.  Looks great!

Quick tip. Head down to the hardware store and pick up some pipe couplers in the plumbing department. They work pretty well for extending shorter clamps. Loved the color, by the way.

Nice project. I am glad to see that you got a current style kit than we did. Ours used feet out of thin wall tubing, with a thin wall tubing cross piece. The cross piece had a threaded insert welded in, and it didn't take long for that weld to break. The wooden cross piece is definitely a better idea.

I love the idea of Murphy Beds, but I've never seen one in person. Yours turned out great, Steve. It looks like the hardware kit works well.

I tell my company to bring their own bed roll so the floor is not so hard. That way they won't stay too long.

Thanks for sharing Steve! It's always fun to watch your videos!

Awesome project Steve! Hope I get a chance to run into later this year in Kansas City. I'm only a few hours away and plan on checking out the show and possibly getting a chance to meet you in person...instead of just watchin for you every Friday on YouTube!
