we could have shown off traditional embroidery and crafts, but nah. let's overpay this designer to make shit we wear in our school's independence day.

Instead of hiring a top designer, they should provide an opportunity to budding talents in fashion design institutes. It would serve both purposes of being cost effective as well as exposing the new talent.

Horrible outfit. It feels like a last minute dress. No hard work done.

Moral of the story do not give it to some famous designer. Instead give it to local craftsman they are real gems.
Even the fabric looks cheap quality. 0 efforts have been put

They put a green and orange border to a white kurta and saree and thought no one would notice 🤦🏻‍♂️

Saree does not look good at all and the men's clothing looks cheap. Local tailors would have done a better job with the designs.

Same dude designed the costumes for Ambani's wedding! Why can't he do smth spectacular for his country like how he did for money? A majestic dhoti drape with an elegant kurta for men and a matching saree drape for women with embroidery would have been perfect

I totally agree with all the frustration from the people of our country.. We could have designed something much better which shows our art and design with diversity.. Just look at the dress of Mangolia's delegation.. they look best in my opinion..

I mean at least stop corruption in designing something that you want to show on world stage! This is definitely NOT Indian craftsmanship. 15yo can design better than this

This is so embarrassing.
So much culture, so much tradition, a country famous for textiles, came up with this?
