You can adjust the tension btw, there are some screws behind the tiles of the centre pieces. You have to pop out the tiles which can be done with a screwdriver from behind the tile when the core is disassembled. I did it to my cube, and it's actually acceptable without any sanding

Good video, that looked like a lot of work! Would be cool if you could open up all the pieces and install magnets, and try to grind down the pieces more to replicate/mimic the internal piece design of modern speed cubes. Obviously that would take ages to do, but imagine going to a comp with something that looks like a clunky Rubik’s brand, and it performing similar to an actual speed cube. People would think you’re a god 😂
