Customs is no joke. I've been through Customs quite a few times. My sister-in-law had her suitcases searched because she brought a half eaten sandwich off of the plane, and that was over thirty years ago.

I work at Fry's and these happened a few years ago. It was New Year's Day and the parking lot was full and everyone was doing their thing. I was on the curb, waiting for traffic to clear so i can cross. Then there's this car that pulls in front of me and the window was going down and the driver was looking at me. I was expecting a question but she asks me, "Are you guys open?"

If i could get away with it, id be like looking around for evidence to suggest we're open. Parking lot is full, lights are on, customers are walking around and im gathering carts.

My response would've been, "No, we're having our New Year's Day party. Only employees, loyal customers and customers who don't ask questions like that are invited. Here's your sign."
