Showdown at the Thornton Township Board Meeting - July 16, 2024

A self-described "majority" of the Thornton Township Board had requested that five new proposed ordinances be added to the agenda for discussion and vote. That request was ignored or rejected, and Supervisor Tiffany Henyard put together her own agenda. Her agenda include opportunities for approving bills for the General Fund, General Assistance Fund, and Road and Bridge Fund. Trustees Chris Gonzalez and Carmen Carlisle refused to approve bills until their proposed ordinances could be reviewed and voted on.

This video shows the entire meeting, with text bars indicating the points of the agenda and the various speakers. Following the adjournment, we interview Trustee Gonzalez about next steps for the proposed ordinances.

Tiffany made no effort to reel Keith Price back in when he cursed a trustee, in fact she grinned. In any other world that would not be tolerated. Not having the ability to stay professional, shows how unqualified someone is for the role they’re in.

Let's pretend Tiffany Henyard is an honest woman and, in all aspects, is telling the truth regarding Township business. However, the way she talks to the trustees and some of the township residents is disrespectful, and her behavior is uncouth. If you live in Dolton and/or Thornton Township, how could you support this woman? She is a disgrace to the African American community, her family, society, and herself.

Kudos to the rep who is demanding files be emailed. Accountability, documents are searchable, and it is fiscally responsible.

An email is an electronic document that can always be searched for and should remain accessible, unless the address owner deletes it. Anything can happen to a paper invoice. If the trustees requested the information to be emailed, what's the problem? It also sounds like Carmen requested for an ordinance to be put on the agenda to make these changes, and it's not being put on there. This bullying and intimidation is getting more and more out of control.

Tiffany does not like being held accountable to the rules and her reckless and illegal spending. Everyone is now worried about how she will be spending the townships money.

Telling everyone else they’re out of order, but let her new Administration assistant curse chris out; WOW. I’m willing to bet, soon as the new run off election starts, everything will come out, thr feds, Lori Lightfoot investigation and even more. I will be back to like and comment on this post.
