If you haven’t seen the show Lost, Its based on a group a group of people that are stranded on a mysterious island after their plane crashes. In Season 3, Episode 12 (“Par Avion”), there’s a moment where Desmond shoots a gun to scare away some birds. It might seem random at first, but it actually has a deeper reason behind it.

Here’s some context: Claire, one of the survivors, has an idea to catch a bird and attach a message to its leg. She hopes the bird will fly to civilization, and someone will find the message and come rescue them. Claire’s boyfriend, Charlie, helps her with this plan because he wants to support her.

But then Desmond, another survivor, steps in and fires a gun to scare the birds away. Claire is confused and upset—why would he ruin their chance to send a message for help?

The thing about Desmond is that he’s... different. Ever since he survived a near-death experience, he’s been able to see flashes of the future. But these visions aren’t happy ones—they’re mostly about bad things that are about to happen, especially to Charlie.

Desmond doesn’t want to tell Claire the truth at first, but it turns out he saw a vision where Charlie dies while trying to catch one of the birds. To prevent that from happening, Desmond scares the birds off, even if it means upsetting Claire.

This moment is so interesting because it shows how far Desmond is willing to go to protect Charlie, even if nobody else understands why. It’s also another example of the mysterious way the island seems to control everyone’s lives, making you wonder—can you ever truly escape your fate?

The show does such a great job of mixing survival drama with big, mind-blowing questions like this, which is why Lost keeps you hooked! 💞

Lost is the best fucking thing to watch, Sawyer, He made me crack up every series, Claire, So kind and had a little bit on the island, Jack, A doctor on the island, Charlie, Use to do drugs and was the farther of Claire’s baby… Kate, my favourite. She killed a lot of people but she is such a good actor, Henry, So mysterious but also kinda friendly
